In the final installment of this series, we contemplate the source of true strength in marriage—not human resolve, but divine grace.
Drawing on the sacramental richness of the Church, we examine how marriage is strengthened when spouses ground their lives in the entire sacramental life of the Church. Matrimony may be the sacrament that binds them, but it does not stand alone. Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist, Confession, and even Anointing of the Sick all nourish and sustain the married vocation.
This talk challenges the popular notion that love alone is enough. Love must be ordered by moral responsibility and supported by sacramental grace. True marital strength is not power over the other, but a shared surrender to Christ.
We reflect on:
- The sacraments as pillars of married life
- The moral imperative of marriage: fidelity, fruitfulness, and forgiveness
- The Cross as the center of marital strength
- The Church as the family of families—a source of guidance, correction, and healing
This final talk is not merely a conclusion, but a commissioning—a call for spouses to walk the long road of love with courage, humility, and hope.
